For those who don't have thier passports and are thinking of getting them - here's the warning that I never got -
They keep your birth certificate!
They don't just make a copy of it - they keep your original birth certificate to send in with your passport forms!
I never knew that. It never said that on any site. No-one ever told me it whom I told I was getting a passport. For 6 weeks now I have to trust someone with my birth ceritificate - and trust them to send it back to me. ><
You have now been warned.

And I do mean that in the most literal use of that phrase and not the figurative. Fell off a ladder at work yesterday. Can't even remember exactly how I lost my balance as I've been climbing ladders at work for like years now and not had any mishaps before. Luckily I didn't hit my head and the main injury seems to be a pulled arm muscle. And I wasn't too high up and had some things around me to grab on to to try and break my fall. Felt like a dork afterwards because it just seemed like a really stupid thing to happen. >

I love nutcrackers. Like the wooden soldier ones from the ballet kind of nutcracker - not the little metal ones - just to clarify that.
Went shopping the other day And bought two to add to my collection. *big grin* And they had a 42 inch Nutcracker there!! *starry eyed* And the cutest welcome sign with a real nutcracker hanging from it and glittery spirals with stones on it. Have to go back and get the welcome sign. The 42 inch Nutcracker was very reasonably priced too. Only $30 dollars. *nod nod*

Please tell me I just did not see that..."Yours, Mine, and Ours" 2005? Let's not and say we did, because the original is like a fab classic. Lots of fun, and really true to life. Why does everything have to turn in to some kind of bad slapstick comedy anymore? I mean, come on, please. That was not just some movie - it was based on a real life family. (Who ended up being allowed to list themselves as a 'restaurant' eventually so that they could get more discounts on food. - Well when you end up serving something like 22 people a day every day three times a day you can list yourself as a restaurant too.) *shudders*
I'll just pretend that I didn't see that commercial...

How would you like to know that there really is a giant squid out there nearly as big as your house. Depending on the house you live in that is. :P
The other day a Japanese biologist caught on film a 59ft Colossol Squid! It was trying to eat bait off of one of the lines they had. And (poor thing) lost one of its tentacles in trying to get away. (Don't worry - I hear they grow them back so I'm sure it'll be okay. :( ) They've never actually seen one alive before - okay - not on tape - trust me the fisherman know these squids well!!
The creature, as long as a bus, was filmed by Japanese researchers nearly a year ago with a "baited" underwater camera but their success was announced only yesterday, with publication of a scientific report in the biology journal of Britain's science academy.
Tsunemi Kudobera, of the National Science Museum and Kyoichi Mori of the Ogasawara Whale Watching Association, used sperm whale migration patterns to find the best place to watch for giant squid, the London Times newspaper reported.
Sperm whales tend to gather near a steep continental shelf about 9.65km off Chichijima Island to the south of Japan.
The Japanese team devised a rig at this spot comprising a camera, light and data logger attached to two baited hooks, each carrying a bag of mashed shrimps. Pictures were taken every 30 seconds over a five-hour period.
At 9.15am on September 30 last year, a 7.92m squid started to lunge at the lower of the two bait bags, 900m below the surface.
Okay - like I didn't know this footage was from close to a year ago...they just released it the other day...

Heh - yeah...job hunting...applications...interviews...
And the result is that I now am starting work in a children's clothing boutique. It's a very small shop compared to working in the children's apparel department at TRU. But that's okay. I don't mind. ^_^ And they have such cute things there!! I start work on Thurs for my training. And finish training on Fri so I can work a full 9 hour closing shift on Sat.
Anything else going on?
Mysterious stars surrounding galaxies, random black holes where they're not supposed to be, new Hurricane tearing in to the gulf of Mexico...
You know - same ole same ole. ;P

Yeah - like am I the most boring journal on LJ to read or what? ROFL Uhm well yes actually probably....
No shuttles going up till March - like totally lame...At this point in time we might as well all wait for the new shuttle fleet!
Without the shuttles Hubble is doomed to be scrapped...okay - am I the only one who doesn't want that thing coming back down? We were lucky with Skylab and Mir...Now you guys want to risk a third manmade meteorite coming back down?? O.o
Still don't have a new job - bleah - come on people - someone hire me!!
You know...I'm actually hungry right now...must go get a granola bar...

The weather can't decide if it really wants to rain or not...keep hearing some thunder...the map's outdated by over 1/2 an hour on the TV...
There must be a good sci fi show to watch somewhere...haven't been able to watch Andromeda recently...not to keen on Stargate past 4th season or so...or is it 5th...don't even mention the new Battlestar Galactica or I'll sic the Cylons of the origianl series on you...Haven't seen anything of the new Doctor Who...
